ARENA nominated for a Grand Off Award
ARENA was nominated for a Grand Off Award, in the category of Best Fiction.
This year, 6 films were selected for this award, out of 895.
"World Off Film Awards is the most important event promoting independent cinema in Poland and one of the most significant initiatives of its kind all over the world. Independent cinema came into existence along with the invention of camera and it can nowadays boast numerous extraordinary productions. Thus, independent film should be held in high esteem and is certainly worthy of a more detailed attention."

It's an honor to announce that Arena was selected to be part of the official competition for short films of the Tribeca Film Festival 2010, running April 21 - May 2 in New York.
The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff. The mission of the festival is "to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience."
With over 250 films and 1,000+ screenings in the last editions and an attendance of 400.000 people the Tribeca Film Festival has become one of the most prominent film festivals in the world.

Arena: Italian Prémiere in Salerno
The italian prémiere of Arena will happen at the 15th Linea d'Ombra - Festival Culture Giovani, running 13-18 April in the italian town of Salerno.
The fifteenth edition of Linea d’Ombra tries to deal with the theme of identity in contemporary cultures, analyzing it through art forms such as cinema, performing art and music.
Arena is part of the competitive section Corto Europa.

Arena in Barcelona
Arena was selected to participate in the 12th Mecal - International Short Film Festival of Barcelona, running 9th-18th April 2010.
This year, Mecal has received more short films than ever, nearly 3.500 and it has prepared the best selection for the festival. Mecal 2010 will have the habitual sections in the official competition: International, Documentary and Obliqua. In the sections on competition there will be short films internationally recognized.
Arena is part of the International Programme.

ARENA in Las Palmas
Arena was invited to participate in The International Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, running 12th - 20th March 2010.
The festival will present in its 11th edition a parallel program on the New Portuguese Cinema, showing 11 long-features and 6 shorts.
The International Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ran for the first time at the beginning of the 21st century, in the year 2000, and can be proud of having lived up to its expectations, as a defender of creative and independent productions, outside the mainstream.
Arena will be screened in this portuguese retrospective.

It's a great pleasure to announce the selection of Arena to be part of the official selection of the Tampere Film Festival.
Tampere Film Festival is among the three most important European short film festivals and celebrates its 40th anniversary in March 10th–14th, 2010. The most anticipated short film event in the spring-wintry town expects 30 000 visitors. In addition to the local audience, approximately 800 professional guests will be present at the festival. 140 of them are international guests.

The European Short Film Festival FEC Cambrils-Reus selected Arena to be part of its competitive program.
The FEC is a festival devoted to European short films and contemporary videocreation. The FEC Project sees the short film as a means rather than an end, so it is open not just to filmmakers but also to visual or plastic artists who use film as a language in which to express themselves. A European panel of judges from the world of cinema and the arts makes the FEC a festival with its own particular and unique criteria within the panorama of film festivals.
The 12th FEC Cambrils-Reus runs from February 24th to 27th in Cambrils, and from March 3rd to 6th 2010 in Reus, where Arena will be screened.

Arena will have its Scottish premiere at that Glasgow Short Film Festival running 19th - 21th, as part of the major Glasgow Film Festival.
Scotland’s leading independent short film programmers The Magic Lantern returns for a third year with a core competition programme celebrating emerging international filmmakers whose innovative, experimental and rule-breaking work introduces them as the strong new voices of cinema. This year GSFF introduces a Best International Short Film Award, judged by a jury of international and local guests, with all 33 invited filmmakers competing for the cash prize.

ARENA in Greece
It's an honor to announce that Arena will have its greek premiere at the Athens International Short Film Festival.
The International Short Film Festival Psarokokalo is an annual festival held every February in Athens. The festival is part of a project aiming to research, promote and develop the art of filmmaking. The festival program includes screenings of short films from Greece and abroad as well as audiovisual events, masterclasses, exhibitions and live concerts.
The quality of its scrennings, lectures, exhibitions it has managed to make it a reference point for cinephiles, filmmakers, professionals and new artists.
The 4th edition of the International Short Film Festival of Athens Psarokokalo will be held from 1 to 7 February 2010.

Since 1989, 80 young directors come to Angers presenting their films to the audience. Last year 69.000 people attended the festival. Some of the most important European directors screened their first films in past editions of the festival, such as Fatih Akin, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Arnaud Desplechin, Xavier Beauvois, Nick Park, Cristi Puiu and Thomas Vinterberg.

ARENA in Czech Republic
Arena will be part of the Panorama Section of the 5th Prague Short Film Festival.
The Prague Short Film Festival, organized by the producers of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, will take place on January, 20-24, 2010 in Prague’s Světozor cinema. As in the previous years, this year’s three competition and nine non-competition sections will present the best short films created over the last year by talented young filmmakers from all over the globe.
